Knelson - Community Commitment 
 The Knelson team participates in ongoing fundraising for the B.C. Children's Hospital. Fundraising events include 50/50 draws, staff barbeques, raffles and numerous company sponsored events throughout the year.
100% of the funds raised during the BC's Children Miracle Network Telethon (CMNT) go towards purchasing much needed medical equipment and supporting research and patient programs at BC's Children's Hospital.
In appreciation and support of the hospital, Knelson and their employees raised $10,000 so far, for the year 2008. Over the years, Knelson's total contributions have grown to a phenomenal $77,958.17. Before the annual telethon in June, Knelson and their employees are going to try and target $80,000! Which means we need to raise $2,041.83 with the Jeans Day campaign, which is coming up April 24, 2008.
The funds raised are combined with those from other members of the BC Mining Industry, under the umbrella of "Mining for Miracles" (MFM) and are presented at the CMNT held annually each June. The mining tor Miracles total for the year 2007 is an outstanding $1,900,000. In less than two years, Mining for Miracles has achieved their three-year goal and raised in excess of $3.35 million to fund the construction of two SMART operating rooms at the BC Children's Hospital! The total raised for the 2007 Miracle Weekend was $14,600,000, collected by BCCHF. It is great to be part of such a caring industry!
Leslie Moore, who coordinates much of Knelson's fundraising activities states, "In addition to their Mining for Miracles contributions, Knelson employees opened their hearts in support of one of their own; an employee whose 3 year old has spent most of the past year at BC Children's Hospital in an ongoing fight against cancer. Every year, the BC Children's Hospital touches the lives of our employees, their families, and their friends. This year, it was especially close to home. "It's great to work in an environment that promotes this kind of effort and with co-workers who really do care."
